Just got my first Kobo - kind of regretting it after years with Kindle
I switched from Kindle Oasis to Kobo Libra Colour and will try to answer some of your questions. You can change the screen zones from the settings, I can't remember what the default was but I have the whole middle part for the menus not just the bottom of the screen, and you can drag from the top to

Why I didn't like the Kobo Libra Colour (and am returning it)
5 is fixable, 8 is fixable via side load, 10 is also fixable but just seems inconvenient for you, 11 might not be a you issue. seems you might be too invested in the kindle ecosystem. can i ask why you didn’t just get a colorsoft?

I love DRM free books for the customization aspect. If a publisher does not make the book the way you’d like, you can fix it with new covers and fonts. I love that.
I can’t edit the post. I bought these in 2012 from Pottermore when they were sold DRM free. They were side loaded (or rather “send to kindle”) on to my colorsoft. I don’t buy books from Amazon, but I do love their devices. I get my books from other vendors and just transfer them to the device. The f

Kindle pw 12th is superfast, vs KLC
I had the opposite. I bought a tablet thinking that it would be better and that I could get more from it than just an e-reader a couple of years ago and ended up never using it and instead using my phone to read, which had it's own problems. Or just the traditional books... The tablet was one of the

I taught a 3-6 year old to read but now she has no books.
Libraries connected to city/state networks offer more ebooks than smaller libraries without connections. The library card for rural libraries in my county gives me access to about 10,000 ebooks. I used my work address to get a city library card connected to a large university, and it gives me access

E-reader for wife’s birthday
I would get her a kindle colorsoft so that she can keep the same books she is already reading and a kindle unlimited subscription. Also you’re a super sweet husband! An e-reader was the best gift from my husband too.

Book lovers rage as Amazon announces they will stop supporting old Kindles: ‘This is a nightmare’
The point is the devices are FINE nothing wrong with them they just want them to upgrade. IMO i justice got a colorsoft last year first kindle or ereader ever. Been using the app. Wish I knew about the other devices and the issues kindle give before I got mine or I might have gone the other way Edit

I bought myself a kobo libra colour but I feel like I should have gotten a kindle.
I had a kindle, then wanted to get away from Amazon and got a kobo libra color. Unfortunately I read quite a lot from kindle unlimited, and the equivalent from kobo really sucks, so ultimately I went back to my kindle. I also liked the syncing between the kindle app and my devices. The kobo syncing

La meilleure liseuse numérique ?
La kobo libra colour sans hésiter une seconde, la kindle colorsoft est un peu plus jolie niveau écran mais devoir convertir tous ses fichiers pour pouvoir lire ça va vite te gaver.

Kindle vs Physical Books for Early Elementary?
A Kindle Fire is a tablet that can give access to videos, games, etc, just like an iPad. A regular kindle or kindle colorsoft literally only has capability for reading books, nothing else. I think it’s just fine for kids’ books, especially since it would give her access to books she can’t easily get
