Unpopular Opinion about Switching from Kindle to Kobo
I prefer Kobo's UI, it's so much better than kindle's. I don't read kindle unlimited books. I mostly sideload and kobo works great with Calibre. My KLC is much faster than my oasis.

Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Clara BW?
I see you decided on a Kindle Paperwhite, but I just upgraded from an Oasis 2 (battery lasted about 4 hours) to a Clara BW, so thought id add my thoughts as it might help someone in the future. I like to take my e-reader with me often, so pocketabaility was important, I also use wide margins to keep

RIP Kindle Oasis - What's next?
There are a few Android eInk devices that are very similar to the 7’’ Oasis 2 and 3 in size and shape - Boox Go 7 for example, but there are others. They won’t have the battery life of good dedicated e-readers (Kindle, Kobo, PocketBook) but offer all sorts of flexibility. (And battery life isn’t as

Feeling conflicted switching to Kobo
It depends on each person's use case, so I'll explain why kobo works for ME better than kindle. Amazon discontinued the kindle oasis and I didn't want to get a device without buttons. Kindle doesn't support Canadian libraries, but kobo has overdrive integration. Kindle's UI is horrible, the home pag

Managing cables drives me crazy! Anyone have any easy tips for this?
I'm the same. I'm even considering soldering a USB-C port to my Kindle Oasis just for convenience

Team Kindle or Team Kobo?
I had kindles since 2013, I switched to kobo when they discontinued the oasis. Amazon said their customers doesn't want buttons so I stopped being their customer.

Decision fatigue
That assymetrical form factor is much more comfortable to use in the larger sizes. You have far more ways to grip it, and you don't have to scrunch up your fingers and get cramps to use it. The 6" is light enough it's not a problem. If you read infrequently or in shorter reading sessions, it's not a

Amazon is killing off perfectly functioning Kindles for no reason other than being old
I'm glad you don't have issues with it, mine refuses to read them at all or makes the text very small in the center of the screen, no matter what I choose in settings. Not sure what model it is because I received it as a gift, I think it's called oasis? I might be wrong. I haven't jailbroken it yet

Why are B/W button devices dying out?
I agree 100%. I have been exclusively using my NOOK GlowLight 4 for reading in 2026. It's never online, so all I do is listen to eBooks via TTS or simply read in KOReader. The GlowLight 4 is just really comfortable to use, even more than the Kindle Oasis 10th Generation that I also have, which has b

Ask Me Anything About My E-Ink Tablet Collection
I have a Kindle Oasis too and would be interested in OP’s opinion. I’m not a huge fan of it. I find it slower than I’d like in the menus and the sorting of books is kind of messy. I wonder if OP has thoughts on if the best model for speed and UI navigation.
