What laptop does your company give you?
All developers used to get a MacBook Pro. But now they’ve downgraded to MacBook Airs M4. Typical cost cutting decision by management. All big 34” curved screens are being replaced by Dell docking stations with two screens, which are not compatible with Mac.. Devs are not happy as you can imagine

Macbook Neo
MacBook Neo and M1 MacBook Air are pretty comparable. You get a bit more performance in certain applications, but also a downgrade in screen and speakers. This is a side grade, and a waste of money. if you want an upgrade buy a MacBook Air with M4 or M5. Or just keep your machine.

Now that Linux is at 5.33% marketshare on Steam, what marketshare do you think will be enough for anticheat support?
Hate to be devil's advocate here, but I wouldn't say MacOS has better support. I have a MacBook Air (M4) and a lot of games just don't run at all. On my desktop with Bazzite, I can basically run anything that doesn't have a rootkit like anti-cheat. There's no Proton for Mac, steam overlay is inconsi

Bye bye MacBook
MacBook Air M1, I’m switching because I’m kinda of tired of MacOS, in terms of privacy I don’t really like the direction Apple is heading, specially in Europe where I live, we’ll see with the new CEO, and if you want to install any standard Linux distro you can’t simply plug the usb and install it.

Which platform is better to build a race track?
A MacBook Air is probably not going to run unreal engine very well at all. Unreal would also burn through a ton of that 250 GB. If blender works for your use case, use it. If you’re looking to make a game and not just a 3d model, try a lighter weight engine than unreal, such as godot

Surface Pro or an entire suite of Apple devices?
I have an M2 MacBook Air and literally every size iPad Apple has to offer. I reach for my Surface Pro 11 every time. I slowly came to the conclusion that iPads/iPadOS just can't do what MacOS and Windows can do, and my MacBook Air can't do tablet chores. It's too bad Microsoft is losing its grip wit

Hello everyone! I am looking for some tech advice. Is this laptop specification sufficient for a teenager's daily schoolwork and projects?
Yes. Although I must admit I got tiredof W11 on an i5,/8GB so I replaced it with Kubuntu. I use that more than my MacBook Air (because of the superior KDE user interface and available tools)

Developer needs to run x86 windows apps - Mac choice
Yes, this is Macintosh group, but for your proposals, I would say a Windows laptop is better. The problems you would have with the Intel machines are already noted. Buy a very good Dell laptop instead. Maybe another Mac Book like the Neo or MacBook Air for personal use without programming. But your

Is macOS Tahoe stable and debugged enough to upgrade to now?
Some of the issues I've observed since upgrading my 16 GB MacBook Air M1 from Sequoia to Tahoe 26.5 a few days ago: The order of Menu Bar items changes when you restart your Mac. Almost all animations look stuttery. The System Settings sidebar icon for iCloud is blank most of the time. As you adjust
