Tim Cook isn't going to get fired, and Steve Jobs isn't rolling over in his grave
Am I the only one still blown away when I use my m4 MacBook Air and my m3 max MacBook Pro? The battery life, speed and lack of heat still boggles my mind. That may be because I remember a time when having more than one browser open lagged your whole computer.

Are high mem MacBook Airs pointless?
I'm typing this on my 32GB M5 MacBook Air, so I'm hopefully fairly well placed to comment here It comes down to what you're trying to achieve and how you will actually be using the LLM If you want it to be performing agentic local coding tasks, you're going to find it heats up far too fast and throt

Running Paralives on an M1 Mac
I have an M1 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM and I’ve been wanting to attempt to run the game but I’m worried since it doesn’t meet the minimum requirements. Based on your experience on the Pro do you think a slightly weaker Mac than yours would struggle too much? I play the sims 4 with a good amount of e

College laptop recs?
For film/video editing, prioritize RAM and SSD over touchscreen stuff. I’d probably look at a refurbished or student discount MacBook Air M2/M3 with 16GB RAM if you can stretch it a bit, those things handle editing surprisingly well while staying light and quiet. On Windows, Lenovo Legion Slim or AS

I just bought the M5 MacBook Air and the iPad feels completely USELESS. Change my mind.
I have a MacBook Air M4 and a iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’ve always loved iPads and have pretty much always owned one, but this is the first time I’ve genuinely questioned whether buying another iPad Pro actually makes sense for me anymore. I keep looking at the 11 inch iPad Pro because the OLED screen loo

need help to choose between a macbook or any other laptop
If you're looking for quality and no headaches, then MacBook is your best choice, M series is fast, quiet, good battery and is very good for studying. Only if you need windows specific applications and gaming should you not go. Otherwise a MacBook Air M3 with 16 GB RAM would be a great buy.

Sincere question - MBA x RAM
"Heavy" is an oversimplification. There are tasks that are heavy on RAM but not on CPU/GPU. Like, let's say that you're the kind of user that multitasks a lot between different apps and tabs. There are tasks that are heavy on CPU/GPU but not RAM. Like, let's say that you wanted to run a Mac mini on

M3 Pro (8/1TB) or M5 Air (16/512)? Help a CS student out
I'd defo choose the MacBook Air M5. Bigger screen, twice the RAM, and storage you can easily expand with external SSD if required. But I defo would choose the Air, it can still handle 4K rendering and such. It won't melt, the chip will just throttle down to a stable temperature.

MacBook Air as a light technician?
Lighting / media programmer here: work includes offline MA3 programming, a bit of VWX, lots of audio tracks / video content interaction. When I bought my current laptop (M3 MacBook Air, 16GB, 512GB hard drive), I figured I'd give a smaller / lighter laptop a try, and if it didn't cut it, I'd upgrade
