I have the original Rog ally x (not the xbox) and I honestly dont feel like I am missing much with the switch 2. Having steam in a portable device I can hook up to the tv is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Its currently my most used gaming device.

Oh yeah that will kill your battery quicker. I usually play at 30fps on handhelds. Something about the form factor makes it seem smooth. Even Forza at 30 feels good on my ROG Xbox Ally X and looks really good.

I had most computers and consoles as you. Except vita which, in my case, was when I had the ds lite and 3ds. I've always enjoyed portable formats as it gives you the flexibility I enjoy. I still have a great pc but play mostly on Xbox Rog ally X. I'm 45 btw.

The main issue most people have with it is the battery is much smaller but if you prefer the size then It is a good option. The xbox/rog ally x have bigger battery with similar size
