What are the benefits of switching to freshtomato for the asus rt-ac68u
Keeps the router up-to-date as far as security. I have to TMo versions running FT. Last Black Friday I bought a new Asus to upgrade the wifi standards. Nothing but problems. Returned it and plugged my trusty AC68U FT back in. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Como escolher um roteador? (eeeeeeeeeeeee)

Express 7 wifi is brutally slow for older non-AC devices (under 1Mb/s)
Doesn't look great for a laptop that a couple feet away clear line of sight from the Express 7. For some reason I can't post a screenshot but here's what I'm seeing. Network: Default24H Internet Activity: 75.7 MBTX Retries: 0.0%Standard: WiFi 4MIMO Config: 2x2AP/Client Signal Balance: PoorRx Rate: 1

Keep losing internet but modem is on
The lan wifi is horrible. I connected an old asus ac68u and have much better .... lan activity. I just upgrade from the sagecom to the g5ar and the local lan is to say the least.. a cluster fuck. The wan speeds are faster to the tmo internet... but after a week of lan work with the g5ar I am having

Dynamic IPv6 firewall configuration
i found a used asus rt ac68u and damn it's a sweet deal. i get a flash storage of 256mb to experiment with openwrt packages... The problem is though that it has broadcom drivers, so no wifi, so i had to use a dumb ap. seeing a lot of people use openwrt is so wholesome!

What budget friendly 5ghz router are you using for Virtual Desktop?
I have no issues on my ASUS AC68U, which is older, 5GHz and works well for VD

Asus Ai mesh suddenly became slow
It is likely a better main router than the old Rt-AC68U, and still being supported more actively in terms of development of the software, not just security fixes.

RT-AX55 Limitations vs RT-AC68u
TL;DR: Since you stated you need Adaptive QoS, then you should probably leave the RT-AC68U as the router, add the RT-AX55 as a mesh node and call it a day. Other thoughts: To learn more about AiMesh, this is a great resource: https://dongknows.com/tips-and-rules-on-picking-the-best-asus-aimesh-combo

What wireless access point is good for a mini pc router with opnsense
I had an AC68U running Merlin and had no issues hitting gigabit speeds on 1gig symmetrical fiber. I disabled the AP function on it and used an Omada EAP670 for better coverage in my house. You really should consider upgrading as both Asus and Merlin no longer offer security updates for this router.

OpenWRT or Unmanaged switch?
When j looked it up a while back they said openwrt somehow doesn't support ac68U's with radio. Haven't followed up on that as that really didn't bother me much. I have 5 mx3800 that gives full WiFi 6 coverage of my home. I don't need more WiFi 5 signal to crowd the airwaves. I chose Batman in the be
