[RTINGS] Wi-Fi 7 Marketing Is Lying About Its Biggest Feature

I started trying wifi 7 routers a year ago, was mostly a bust not even factoring in MLO nonsense. Tried a Asus RT-BE92U, Netgear RS600, TP-LINK BE800. https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/comments/1hpejh8/warning_for_rtbe92u/ I will add my TP-LINK BE800 that I kept because I was outside the return period, di

Help! ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro dropping iPhone/PS5 - Kernel WLC_SCB_DEAUTHORIZE error (-30)

Yes, this is a confirmed Broadcom WiFi 7 driver bug. You're not crazy, and it's not your configuration. The WLC_SCB_DEAUTHORIZE error (-30) is a known kernel-level memory management failure in the Station Control Block (SCB) that affects WiFi 7 (802.11be) routers with Multi-Link Operation (MLO) . What

Help choosing a router for upgraded internet

I've been reading about the RT-BE92U, and from what I've read I don't think that I'd go that way. Too many firmware problems. Yes, I'd have to say that the GT-AX6000 or RT-AX88U is a better option than the RT-BE92U. If I was going to go for wifi 7, I'd go for the RT-BE96U, as I said before. Must be

Which router should I go for: ASUS RT-BE92U or RT-AX86U Pro?

Both routers you named can’t get you the 10G speed you’re looking for. The rt-be92u has only one 10G port and the others are 2.5G ports, so the best you can expect would be 2.5Gb most likely through wired connection. The rt-ax86u has only one 2.5G port and the rest are 1G ports, so you’re bottleneck

Asus RT-BE92U 2.4 GHz issues.

Check your firmware version, 3.0.0.6.102_38961 has issues right now and best to revert to a previous version (3.0.0.6.102_37563). https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wifi-7/all-series/asus-rt-be92u/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=ASUS-RT-BE92U

Which to choose?

RT-BE92U is the reason why I joined the Ubiquity gang. It had generally unstable WiFi7 and buggy firmware. One day I woke up to the open network (I mean not password protected) that would've exposed my LAN to all my neighbours if the signal strength could penetrate even a thin wall. Save yourself so

Need help choosing a router.

Whoa! $899 for a router? (ASUS GT-19000AI). Based on what your stated needs are, I agree with u/Junior_Resource_608 that this router may exceed your needs. The ASUS BT-BE98 Pro ($628) is also rather pricey. While you would know best what you truly need, I have some thoughts to share. I think you could

Should I buy the ASUS RT-BE88u an almost 2 year old router and join it with my RT-AX92U routers?

If the RT-BE88U is within your budget and you aren't concerned by its price, you could certainly buy it and use it. Especially in a wired backhaul AiMesh setup with the RT-AX92U units, where the AX92U units serve essentially as wired access points. In that respect it doesn't matter too much that the

New Asus BE92U Ping Spikes

(Part 2 of 2) Option #1: Use WiFi 6 devices for both the router and mesh node. Replace the router (RT-BE92U) with a high-quality WFi 6 router. One example - ASUS RT-AX88U Pro. Released in 2023 so only 2 years old at this point so will likely receive firmware updates for at least another 3 years (pro

Network Sleep Help

If it makes you feel any better my RT-BE92U has the exact same issue. In fact, I was trying to make a post about it and my post was pulled because I'm too new. Regardless, I have a Dell and a Lenovo and both of them get disconnected overnight. I can walk away from either during the day for hours and
