Quiet Comfort Shocking
that shocking feeling is the anc membrane flexing too hard. happens on some qc models with sudden sharp sounds. bose replaced mine twice and same issue. i switched to sony xm4 and never had it again. or try the qc45 if you want to stay with bose - they use different drivers. the replacement loop won

Final update. I've decided to return them. The comfort is awesome and the compact size and battery life are great.
