Convince me not to go to Costco and buy the ninja machine. [$500]

This sort of question compares "convenience" of making your drink to the "quality" of drink you get. Both are important. Before my current prosumer setup, we bought the (expensive!) Breville Oracle (back then it was $3000 CAD, now it's closer to $4000). Like the Ninja, its design was a clever arrang

Downsizing breville dual boiler

I went from a BDB to a Lelit Mara X v2 when my Breville shorted out due to boiler leaks (after a pretty good run, it was the first generation). The Mara X has less features. No auto-wake (the Mara X is now on a smart plug that wakes it up). No shot timer. It takes about 15 minutes to warm up, rather

Beginner setup [3000€]

On our espresso journey, we started with Keurig and Nespresso. We thought we really liked coffee so we bought the (very expensive) Breville Oracle, all in one machine - especially so my wife could use its automated features, as she wanted "a coffee, not a project". I really like the idea of the mach

Milk frothing options and nanofoamer pro review

If you're okay sacrificing 70-90 ml of milk (uses 170-190ml of milk), the Dreo Milk Frother Air has been fantastic. I pair it with my cafelat robot. My wife prefers this texture to what we were doing on the breville dual boiler. And it's insanely easy to use.

Why the Breville Dual Boiler, is my forever machine.

I had the breville dual boiler for about that long and ended up moving to a gaggia with gagguinio mod cuz I don’t care about steaming milk as much as I care about shots. I’m pretty happy with the decision as I can pull some seriously good shots. Better then my commercial Synesso hydra at my cafe som

I'm in need of a new coffee machine!

I've owned 2x Barista Express machines (still have one) and 1x Breville Dual Boiler. The Dual Boiler was significantly better to use than the Express but unreliable. It completely broke down twice, and the repair cost was going to be higher than a new Barista Express so I sold it for parts and bough

Convince me not to get the Cafelat Robot! [$500]

I've had my BDB for about 6 years too. Just this morning I thought about doing research later on separate milk frothers so I can sell this giant breville paper weight

Should I upgrade? [$1,100]

Like i said, the niche is a sidegrade over the integrated grinder. It's weak at light roasts and fine grinds, and accordingly to a commenter here, coarse grinds as well. It's a fantastic bit of kit for dark roasts, and moka, and french press, yeah, but that's about it ... Once you want medium light
