Replacing laptop hard drive, recommendations?
ssd is absolutely the way to go for that pavilion. i did the same on my 2018 model and it felt like a new machine. for under 300 bucks you can get a solid 1tb drive like the Crucial MX500 SATA SSD. that drive will make boot times and app loading way faster. just clone your current drive before swapp

I know nothing
i think the crucial mx500 is a good choice but keep in mind its a sata ssd, so it will be a bit slower than NVMe ones but definiately usable for programming and other general usage. Also you mention you know nothing so are you sure you can open the laptop up and install the SSD? if not don't risk it

You guys may have missed it, but Eufy released a WiFi repeater last month, so you can finally extend the range of your Homebase.
I just grabbed one off of eBay, $49. My entire eufy system with 2-S330 and 2-S3Pro just got Turbo Charged!!! Or maybe it's just working like it's supposed to. I switched out the 1TB HDD with a Crucial BX500 1TB SSD. Cameras come on in about 1 second, spot light and alarm turn on and off within a sec

Can I have some help interpreting my hard drive performance? Doesn't seem right
This would be fine for an older or slower SATA HDD.... or a USB drive depending on the efficiency of the interface. By modern SSD standards, this is very sluggish. The last SATA SSD I bench marked was about 2.8x faster than these numbers (the below was from a Crucial BX500 1 TB SATA SSD Drive). . [R

Can you put a SSD in the UNAS? how so given it is meant for a 3.5HDD?
you can absolutely use ssds, just need 2.5 to 3.5 adapters like the sabrent or icy dock ones. they're cheap and screw right into the trays. for drives grab samsung 870 evo or crucial mx500 - both are reliable and have power loss protection which matters for nas. hdds aren't as fragile as you think t
