Mars 4 Vs Mars 5

I recommend the mars 4 ultra, but to change the fep for the mars 4 non ultra out of the box. The mars 4 ultra comes with ACF film which is cloudy and can reduce print sharpness. The mars non ultra 4 has a clear fep. Very easy to change. Or just live with the cfa film, its less sharp but not by a mas

I did a thing......

Yeah, I would be just making them for myself. I have a 3d scanner. I've learned an Elegoo Mars 4 or an Anycubic Photon will hit the mark without the FDA cert price tag. And 'bio' resin is affordable for my use. I wonder if I could make some choppers that had semi transparent teeth that can flicker c

Anycubic Photon Mono M7 or Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra

If the Saturn 3 is available, get that. It’s actually better than the Ultra, despite the internet… has better UV uniformity, comes with nFEP/PFA release film as standard (Elegoo discontinued using ACF after the Mars 4 Ultra and Saturn 3 Ultra). Level using my method and you’ll eliminate Z axis compr

Is this a good FEP foil (140X200MM)? for Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra

Edit: As u/awyeahmuffins pointed out, oddly enough the Mars 4, 5, and 5 Ultra have FEP listed by Elegoo. Didn't realize FEP was still in use on any consumer machines as PFA is better and cheaper. The Mars 4 Max uses PFA and notably has a larger tank than other Mars machines. In this case, either fil

this happens due to bad leveling, right?

Mars 4 ultra as well, found out that with elegoo 3.0 normal resin, I need 5 base layers at 25 seconds, then only 2 transition. When I had 5 transition it caused issues. From the videos I watched, this seems to go against general recommendations, maybe because m4 ultra has ACF? Give fewer transition

I want to get into 3D printing Miniatures but i don't know what printer to get.

If you are wanting to get into making miniatures you should start with the Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra, it really is a great machine. I would stick with Elegoo resins at the start as they have built in set ups. The issue with resin is they models still tend to be brittle and breakable unless you pay for the

Is there an *obvious* choice if you’re a newbie and your main goal is to create good quality D&D-style miniatures (28-32mm I guess) for $500 or less?

For 28mm minis you probably want resin. FDM can so some minis at that scale OK-ish when dialled all the way in, but resin will do it out of the box and will print so much faster, the detail will be far better, and it'll "just work" on far more models whilst FDM either can't print certain things well

Is the Elegoo Mars 5 good for printing anime figures? Are resin printers the best choice?

Any half modern resin printer has great detail, the default mars 5 is only 4K, which I assume is worse than the mars 4 ultra which also currently is on sale and costs around 200 bucks on the Elegoo website. Print time scales with height of the print instead of volume, so a big build plate allows you
