Like I’m stupid, compare a 7 vs 8?

Fenix 7 has an older HR sensor, no LED flashlight except on 7X, and only has a MIP screen, the AMOLED model was called Epix Gen 2. Fenix 7 Pro / Epix Pro are basically the same as Fenix 8, with all the same sensors and internal hardware, and LED flashlight on every model, the main differences are: F

Garmin users are getting screwed, and most don’t even realize it

I have the Epix Gen 2 and have been very happy with it. 3 years on and the battery is not what it first was, but that happens with all tech devices. I get that newer models and more updates , but my watch still does everything I paid for initially. If I was to upgrade again now, the only tangible fe

Yet Another One

Here is my standard response, typed a while back, with a link to pics showing my point: When sizing a watch don’t turn the Watch toward your face to judge. This rotates the radius bone (thumb side) over the Ulna (pinky side), making the wrist more square and narrow. Instead, look in the mirror with

Help me decide - AMOLED or Solar

I owned the Epix 2 and now the Fenix 8. Bothing being AMOLED I've had none of these problems. I wonder if this person is challenged or had a defective watch. I used Always on Display and my watch responds immediately and I have had zero problems ever seeing the watch face. I had MIP prior and see no

New Pixel User Here...

I have a Garmin Epix Gen 2. It's a fantastic watch and the battery life is amazing. I much prefer it over the Apple watch I had before switching to android. The other great thing about Garmin is their customer service. A couple of months ago (21 months after buying the watch ) one of the buttons sto

Anyone made a switch from Garmin epix2 to AW Ultra gen3?

I went from Apple Watch 7 (2 years) to an Epix Gen 2 (2 years) and now an AWU3 (4 months). I miss some things from my Garmin but ultimately cared more about better integration with my phone and my Workout app of choice (Fitbod). Things I miss: week long battery life 5 physical buttons (you can disab

Apple Watch and Garmin Why not keep both ?

Exactly how I approach it. Apple Watch Ultra (first gen) on one wrist, Epix Gen 2 (titanium/sapphire) on the other. Apple Watches, for me, represent the best-in-class smartwatch experience for Apple users. It's also a cellular backup (safety, streaming audio) for me. Part of that is how much Apple l

Fenix 8 Amoled Hate

A lot of people who "hates" AMOLED display does not own a current gen display. I've had original Venu and that display was not the best but my current Epix Gen 2 works mighty fine on both batt life and display brightness/readability even after 3 years with over a thousand activities.

Coros or garmin

If in the US, Garmin certified refurbished Epix Pro (gen 2) sapphire (white) units are dirt cheap (<$400 USD) at gpsnation. Either Coros or Garmin will get it done. If you don't care about NFC payments or Spotify et al., then Coros has a solid offering for the price and battery life with less of a l

Weekly Buying/trading/selling advice, pre-orders and shipping Megathread

Hello! I am very close to purchasing my first Garmin watch. Coming from an Apple Watch Series 4 that I wore religiously for 5+ years until the battery become unusable (1/2 day on low power mode). I am pretty fitness focused running 3 days and swimming and lifting 3 days a week at my peak. Now I typi
