Multisport Function vs 3 Separate activities on watch
Forerunner 745, 955 and now a 970 but haven't raced with it yet. Multisport every time. Who has time to stop and activity, save it, find and start a new one? This is a race, not a workout. I just hit the lap button at timing belts as I don't trust the auto transitions either.

How best use Garmin HRM-600 HRM and Garmin 735xt
If the strap is connected, it takes over. On newer watches you have the default option of "data fusion", but, AFAIK, it only applies to HR, not advanced running dynamics You need to wear the watch and record an activity with it. The strap doesn't really "calculate" metrics, it reports accelerometer
