Anyone here using Genelec 8010 as home dj monitors? are they good or too small?

Depending on your room and how loud you are able to play. I am guessing that’s why you are choosing 8010 or for travelling. The whole range is perfect for any kind of near field including as DJ monitors they are extremely robust and were made for location playback. They also sound great in lots of d

OK so you have no sound constraints. I would still go for the 8020B otherwise it won’t capture the lower frequencies. Which are the important frequencies in most disco or dance music. Like I said get the Genelec mic stand it space saving and they can be adjusted to standing height. It’s makes all th

Can studio monitors still be enjoyable in an untreated room if mixing accuracy isn’t the primary goal? Looking for immersion and fun.

I could be all off here — I am not a professional, an expert or anything like that — but no one has mentioned whether you are setting these up as near-field monitors or as room speakers. I’m set up right now with a pair of Genelec 8030c speakers a little more than arm’s length away from where I sit.

G series vs 8000 series

Regarding the size, I have a small living room home theater system with three 8030c fronts and two 8020d back speakers plus a non-Genelec sub + Denon receiver with pre-outs for room correction. I would not go smaller than that for a living room system, the bigger the better. The 8030c are well regar

DJing from a Conservatory - best near field speakers?

I have used Classic Genelec near field monitors for years. Currently use the Genelec 8030c in white as they blend into my white lounge walls on their official mic stands which are space saving and can adjusted to any height, which also means you don’t need a large desk to accommodate monitors. They

my homemade setup

Nice I have used Genelec’s for years for my home DJ near field monitoring. I have some 8030c in white on their mic stands which screw into the base. They sound great in lots of different rooms and the ergonomics are excellent as they don’t take up much space plus there a load of desk, wall and stand

Own Genelec 8010s, looking for upgrade options for bass / better mixing

I like Genelec 8000 series which were designed for portability but also think they work in lots of different spaces. Currently own 8030c white which blend into my home environment. But if you don’t want the lower frequencies not to travel. Probably better to upgrade to the bigger near field model. I

Hifi cost

Depends: - Differing opinions of 'sweetspot' performance, which could be small bookshelves or massive floorstanders depending on your opinion - I find bookshelf speakers to be too big a compromise in a big room - Sources: streaming is less costly than physical digital media (CD/SACD/Atmos mixes) whi
