It fails to record manually started workouts, step counts, calorie burn, other stats are horribly over counted or under counted...it's bad. Don't bother resetting your watch. I just got a PW3 used off ebay today to try this out. My kid has a fitbit ace but they're going into high school next year and this is a bit to childish for them. Phone calling seems to work with the Family Link contact list just fine. They can also receive and reply to incoming texts from the list.
