I tested different audio setups to see which actually makes footsteps easier to hear in Warzone
Excellent topic for discussion! Your note about sound separation being key was spot on. My setup is a bit on the deep end but works beautifully: Soundblaster GC7 as my DAC/AMP - it’s a very good DAC that’s built for 7.1 Virtualization and does it very well. It also comes with a bunch of EQs specific

Which earphone has surprised you the most in a good way?
Hifiman's Susvara. I wasn't expecting that gentle warm touch, I was familiar with many other Hifiman products and I thought I was about to experience a step up in staging and details and technicalities. It blew me away because I couldn't stop focusing on individual sounds, I wasn't even paying atten

So apparently HiFiMAN might be the right brand for me? (According to AI at least)
Having personally tested/owned most of the stuff, this list makes no sense, as it should be since this models cannot experience them. HE1000SE are my top experience & recommendation overall among the listed ones, while HD800S are mediocre for a lot of purposes and the best in staging specifically. H

How big before you could no longer wear over-ear headphones?
At 25mm, my Hifiman HE1000se can still easily accommodate my ears, with plugs still in, but those headphones are huge (and cost $$$$). For most other headphones, I just take out my jewelry until I'm done.

Which specific model of Arya or HE1000 should I go for?
That Arya stealth is way overpriced, they go for around 600 new Arya organic same, around 900 new He1000 stealth should be around 1200 or below He1000se is actually priced okay, can probably find cheaper though No idea about unveiled but they’re newer models so I’d assume they would be difficult to

No budget limit. Best headphones for gaming and music.
I know your budget was more endgame, but I'm curious if you ever tried the HD490 Pros? HE1000SE are on my wish list but hard for me to justify, especially the way HiFiMan routinely drops their prices in half. If it ever plummets to under $1k, I'll certainly jump on it. What are you thoughts on them

Which specific model of Arya or HE1000 should I go for?
Hey man! We had a headphone meetup yesterday, so I had the pleasure to try the HE1000 stealth and the he1000se. One thing is certain. The HE1000 models are more balanced tonally, while the arya is more V-shaped character. The ceiling raises as you go up in price, but on a midrange system (DAC+AMP in

Best beginner audiophile headset setup?
Knowing your budget would help. With a low budget, 80–90% should be spent on the headphones and the rest on the amp/DAC. I’d say that for under $300 USD, I would look at the FiiO FT1 for closed back headphones and HiFiMAN Sundara (for open back) or, if the budget allows, a refurbished deal on the Hi

Officially an owner of a Hifiman Headphone (Arya Stealth)c
Probably technical limitation. The amp may provide ample (no pun intended) volume, but it isn't robust enough to fully drive them, so you can scale the arya with better amps and even dacs. I heard the he1000se and he1000 stealth and imo those aren't necessarily better, just different, so the arya is
