I heard the opposite. Cloud 2 being more bassy and Cloud 3 S being more the neutral "audiophile" frequency. If you haven't, recommend to firmware update via NGENUITY non-beta and set EQ there. Hyper x cxloud3 are regularly on sale for like $60. It's genuinely a great deal and one of the few headsets I can wear for hours on end without any fatigue.
