If you are just looking to record your surroundings and nothing more then get an insta360 x3. Others suggested a GoPro but if you want to record every single angle then an insta360 is a the way to go.

hi, it is a personal preference. I have the X5. (X3 is less performant). I was in action camera GoPro since 5 series. I used Insta360 AcePro and AcePro 2 - fantastic cameras. But my problem when skiing or MTB for instance, is that I do not see myself, or the right angle POV, or the shot wasn’t frame

Both serve different purposes: iPhone is All-round smartphone camera (calls, apps, daily photos & videos). Insta360 X3 is Specialized 360° action camera (immersive shots, reframing, adventure content) both useful, but built for completely different use cases.

8k is just barely enough for 360 camera. My old Insta360 X3 had just 5.7k which often looked bad even on Instagram. But I dont personally wait for 11k, I am very happy for 8k60. Its the first time we have good slowmo and good VR compatibility. Maybe some people in need of FPS will even mount this dr
