Degoogle planning, looking for recommendations

For VPN, only Mullvad, IVPN and Proton are trustworthy. From what I found, your device isn't officially supported by something like LineageOS, probably because it is newer. Unfortunately, we'll all be fucked after September because of the dev verification. It is irrelevant on which ROM you are at th

Imagine waking up to this email; glad I'm using Tuta.

They can be ordered to monitor specific accounts including IP addresses by Swiss courts, this would of course override their privacy policy. If you need to use Proton Mail anonymously, sign up with Tor via their .onion domain or a trustworthy VPN like Mullvad or IVPN, and pay for the account with ca

So not private?

Surfshark is owned by the same entity as NordVPN. They are associated with Tesonet, a company which has a data mining arm (OxyLabs). I would suggest you stick with the PrivacyGuides recommendations for VPNs, that is, Proton VPN, Mullvad, or IVPN: https://www.privacyguides.org/en/vpn/

Google Broke Its Promise to Me. Now ICE Has My Data.

Technically speaking, Proton Mail, Tuta Mail, Posteo meet those criteria. For Posteo, the inbox encryption is opt-in though (a feature they call crypto mail storage), for Proton Mail and Tuta Mail it's the default. mailbox.org also offers an encrypted inbox (opt-in) but collects IP addresses as per

Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 VPN Removed from App Stores | Internet Freedom Foundation

Trusted and top VPNs providers mainly Mullvad, IVPN, and ProtonVPN all have open-source clients hence they are available easily on F-Droid and on their websites/Github.

State of this

get a better VPN: The VPN market has been cornered by companies with massive advertising budgets. The ones you see everywhere (Nord, Surfshark, etc.) spend millions on ads and affiliate programs - where's that money coming from if not your data? Meanwhile, the providers privacy experts actually reco

YSK that 88% of "free" VPNs leak the exact data they promise to hide. The app you installed for privacy is probably the most surveilled app on your phone.

The best VPNs are the ones you've never heard of. The VPNs YouTubers promote in their videos aren't the best and many have had data leaks. They may not be transparent and actually keep logs they may hand over to the police/government if they come knocking. Journalist's rely on VPNs when reporting fr

Degoogle planning, looking for recommendations

Well, the issue with VPN is how dodgy the company owning it is and whether they live up to their claims. I think because the VPN market is much bigger than most other privacy-oriented tech it's attracted a fair share of shady actors. So this isn't about whether there might be some flaws, but whether

Need a VPN for my iPhone

ProtonVPN is the only free one I trust. It’s been solid but I don’t use it for streaming so I can’t vouch for that. Mullvad is the go to recommendation if you’re willing to pay for one imo. IVPN is another one I’ve heard good things about, I haven’t tried them though.
