Kali makes excellent powered speakers for the money. You said in a comment your budget is $500. There are the LP-UNF’s for $300 (which are smaller but have Bluetooth and USB), the LP-6 v2 for $500 a pair and also the MM-6 for the same (they’re just the LP-6 v2 with digital input and remote). I don’t know if $500 is such a good price point to buy powered speakers. Below or at that price you are either limited to active studio monitors (that don’t have volume control or input selection — i.e. you need a preamplifier for that), or lower quality hi-fi powered speakers. Maybe the Edifier MR5

I think the Kali LP-6 v2 or the Kali MM-6 are a pretty great option for newbies, because they’re active (powered). Just plug in your source and they sound great. Under $500 a pair. I just bought a pair of MM-6’s for my bedroom recently
