E-Reader for Perth Users

Kobo has overdrive support (Libby) and works with the WA libraries service :). I have a Kobo Clara Colour and I think it's great. It's $269 at JB. Just be aware that there can be longish wait times for renting an ebook if it's popular (they often only have a licence to rent out a few copies at a tim

How to transition to an eReader

Highly recommend a Kobo of some kind. I transitioned to ereader only many years ago when I needed to have books take up less room in my house. I have a Kobo Libra Color after having a Kindle for many years, but I'd do your own research on which Kobo might be best for you. The Kobo Clara B+W is the m

Need an E-Reader but not break the bank

You’re Canadian? Kobo is in Toronto. Just a note. But more importantly, the devices are repairable and well built, plus the policies are pretty user-friendly. (Price matching, returns, downloadable for backup, etc.) I’d only avoid Kobo if you routinely switch between devices (phones/ereaders/tablets

I have a confession…..

I’ve been struggling with the Colorsoft. I find I have to adjust the warmth and brightness with a frequency that’s a nuisance. The battery also drains fast. I read for the whole day after Christmas (8ish hours) and it went from fully charged to dying. In comparison to the Paperwhite, which took like

KOBO VS KINDLE

I’ve had multiple Kindles, a Pocketbook Era, and just recently bought a Kobo Clara BW. The Clara is far and away the best one I’ve had. It is the fastest and most responsive. It would be my recommendation if you plan on side loading books and managing your library with Calibre. If you just want to b

To those who haven't bought a light for their Xteink device

If you are serious enough in reading, i’d suggest investing in a kobo clara B&W for night reading and the x4 during the day anywhere. Nothing beats a frontlight of ereaders as it is not distracting even if someone sleeps with you in bed

Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Clara BW?

I see you decided on a Kindle Paperwhite, but I just upgraded from an Oasis 2 (battery lasted about 4 hours) to a Clara BW, so thought id add my thoughts as it might help someone in the future. I like to take my e-reader with me often, so pocketabaility was important, I also use wide margins to keep

Should I get Kobo or Kindle?

It depends on what you read and how tbh. I have both and use them equally as much. I have a Kobo Clara Colour and a Kindle PWS. Kobo Pros: Libby/overdrive (what I use this device mostly for) ease of adjusting screen light stats on the device color screen for when I need it the size is pristine for f

Leaving Kindle, advice for new e-reader

Why ask ChatGPT about it? It can’t tell you anything your own research won’t conclude. AI complaint aside, I personally have a Kobo Libra Colour and I love it. I picked it because it has buttons, a good amount of storage, and a good size screen. I use it for manga and ebooks. It’s easy to sideload c
