New Monitor Speakers

Those Behringers are decent for the price but you might want to check out the KRK Rokit 5s or Yamaha HS5s instead - they're pretty much the gold standard for bedroom producers and synth setups. The KRKs especially have that low end punch you're looking for without being too muddy, and they won't bre

New to DJing, need advice!

welcome to the wormhole this can get expensive if it escalates haha What kind of music are you looking to play (has big influence on where you get music from) Software - rekordbox is pretty standard and what most use. It is compatible with the vast majority of hardware players and controllers and in

Studio monitors sound thin compared to headphones

yeah agreed bigger is almost certainly better for a more consistent frequency response. Before I bought the rokit 5s i tried some presonus eris E7 XTs, but big for my space really, but they suffered from the buzzing issue that had been frequently reported so i sent them back. Picked up the rockits f

Recommended speakers?

Yamaha HS5 or KRK RP5 are both decent entry level speakers. In general avoid speakers that have bluetooth. I've seen a few of these advertised and they are just toys. You will also need a decent audio interface. The MOTU M2 or M4 are really solid high quality units. A little cheaper would be Univers

Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX3 Standalone DJ Controller + DM-40D Speaker

i ran into this same spot last year. the rx3 is great but overkill for a first deck honestly. the XDJ-RR goes for around £1,000 and still gives you standalone rekordbox prep. another solid move is finding a used XDJ-RX2 - people upgrade and sell them all the time. for speakers the DM-40D are fine bu

What type of starter equipment do I get my limited verbal som with autism?

For the controller, I think the DDJ-FLX4 from pioneer might be a good choice. For the speakers I might say KRK ROKIT 5 G5 $500 is a good starting point. Check Facebook marketplace, or whatever they might use around you, and you can probably get a deal.

want to start producing

You’ll need a computer that’s as powerful as your budget will allow, ideally spending around $1000 for a really nice computer. After that it’s not really necessary unless you’re going legit aka professional. MacBook Airs are good enough for the job and those are 1000 bucks. Macbook pros can handle a

Studio monitors sound thin compared to headphones

My Fluid Audio Fader FX8 monitors sound just as good, if not better, than my studio quality headphones. Those Yamaha HS4 monitors are known to have good flat response but weak bass response. The universally popular KRK monitors have good bass response. In fact they are often criticised for that, in t

Advice needed for monitors

You want a pair of powered studio monitors. "Powered" meaning that they have their own amp built in. (Forgive me if I'm telling you stuff you already know). There are heaps of decent options at a really wide set of price points. Some candidates might include: Kali Audio LP UNF KRK (Rokit 5 or Kreate

ADVICE ON EQUIPMENT

honestly the RX3 is a solid upgrade from the SR and mixer combo. i made a similar jump last year and the standalone workflow is way smoother. for budget speakers that still sound decent for home practice, check out the Pioneer DJ DM-40D or KRK Rokit 5 G4. both are under $200 each used and plenty lou
