I believe the Thinkpad T14 Gen 7 is a worthy successor to the T480.
Precisely this! When I ordered my T14G5 it was around $4000 with the options selected. Granted I'm still using it for the foreseeable future, I made a configuration with the major options I "need" (Ultra 7, OLED, 64GB Ram) and it clocked just under $5100 Canadian. I'll wait until I can get it discou

Suggestions on buying used laptop from Ebay
I guess that's a good option, but my only concern is IdeaPads usually have a crap build quality. How about this one? It's a ThinkPad T14 Gen 5, it's used, from 2024. It should be good enough for app development if you are just starting, build quality is superior AND it's easy to take apart (even Len

T14 Gen 5 (Intel) 32 or 64 GB RAM?
I have pretty same: t14g5 i 165u 64gb, I barely got 20 gb ram usage during sbt compilation. Go for 32. If 64 will be needed, you can upgrade later. Moreover RAM in t14g5 isn't speedy if coming from Lenovo. If 64gb is needed, buy as small stock ram from Lenovo and upgrade ypurself to 64gb of low late

I bought a T480. Any advice on what I should do before using it?
It's one of the best units that soldered ram haters like me could get until the T14 Gen 5 starts getting dumped by companies and approach T480 cheap status, though the T14G5 has a soldered wifi card. Ordinary people may not care but few of us do, even if soldered ram screwing up (mobo replacement) i

New T14 gen 6!
Found one for about 1,300 dollars. I'll buy it when there's a chance for me to mod it with a better screen. Because 268v with a 120 hz would definitely go better. I am not a huge OLED fan, an IPS would go just as well for me. The only problem is the compatibility issues that Lenovo firmware has as f

What is the best thinkpad for daily use?
For my daily use i own T14 gen 5 (AMD). My GF got E14 gen 7 (Intel) and i must say I am surprised how good the E14 is. The only really noticeable differences in favour of T14g5 are: keyboard (backlighting and replacability) screen (a little bit better) Otherwise the E14g7 is much better in many ways

Best ThinkPad T14 Specs for €2000?
16GB RAM is probably enough. For modern web browsers on Windows? Not really. I wouldn't buy anything under 32GB (or upgradeable) for that kind of money these days. Luckily the T14G5 has dual SO-DIMM slots, so if you go with that you should be fine. As for Snapdragon... that entirely depends if your

First thinkpad, is this good?
T14G5 is quite similar to P14sG5 in configuration, but P-series would consume more energy than T-series. You may consider T14pG5 (Chinese version), it would have more slots for upgrades.
