There is a reason why Lenovo is selling certified refurbished X1 Carbon Gen 9 with high spec for dirt cheap at the moment. If it sounds to be good to be true… There is a inherent issue with gen 9 unfortunately so they had a huge return back to base from corporate rerun.

Based on CES buy thinkpad now or wait for the new cpus?
Maybe not so obvious: buy used at the price you can afford. I like to see what’s coming out today, so i can target what I’ll buy in 2-3 years. Thinkpads have been pretty underwhelming for a while now. If the next version that Lenovo releases was a big a jump as macs going from Intel to m chips then

Update: I fixed my defective X1 Carbon Gen 9 and upgraded the display
Nice work - always nice to see a ThinkPad saved from the landfill However, I don't know what the prices are like in your country, but IMHO that's really high for a Gen 9. I just bought a gen 13 (well, X1 2 in 1 Gen 10 with same specs as X1C13 + 360-hinge and touchscreen + 4 years warranty) for £600,
