My school bought a bunch of Switches to use as a "reward" activity for middle school kids. What could this look like, and how best to manage?
My first purchase would be screen protection for all consoles, but especially for the Lites. A regular switch can still display to the TV with a cracked screen, but a Lite is toast since it can't connect to anything else. I'd also consider a controller budget.. Stock joycons are notorious for issues

A Comparison of Prices Across All Major Gaming Consoles.
The problem for the Switch 2 for me isn’t the price of the console, it’s how it is monetized. They are charging $99 for another pair of joy con which are likely to drift in a couple of years. They charge $90 for a pro controller. They charge to use a built in game chat feature (only took them 20 yea

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (04/28/2026)
So commonly, this is due to the controller failing to charge from the system. Eventually it just runs out of charge and dies. Hence, no longer working. Bad news, if you can't confirm that the fault was the joycon alone, then a replacement might face the same fate. If the system rail has broken. Then

People who still haven’t brought a Switch 2, what makes you hesitant to buy it?
It's primarily the price, as just the Switch 2 console itself costs $720 (SGD) here in Singapore, and physical games that are $80 (USD) in the US cost around $110 (SGD) here. As Splatoon Raiders is launching later this year, I wanted to get a Switch 2 this year, but decided I needed a new laptop mor

$100 for new joy cons I view as incredibly greedy and criminal and I also think Nintendo has basically turned into the Disney of the gaming industry. Friendly in appearance only, run by sharks with some of the worst policies and treating the consumer like absolute shit. I don’t need Mario that badly

You can buy individual left Joy cons on eBay for like $30... But if you like a traditional controller gameplay, there are good pro controller options that are as good or better than the Nintendo controller. (And a lot cheaper) You might post on the Nintendo subreddit for help troubleshooting the joy

what do I do? can I repair this myself, or do I need to get it fixed somewhere?
You can't repair it, but you can replace it. Guide here: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Right+Joy-Con+Joystick+Replacement/113185 Don't send it back to Nintendo to fix. They'll do drift fixes for free, but not accidental damage, and the price they'll quote you is far higher than the price of some repl

What could have been finally is. At least for me.
I'm guessing you are newer to the world of nintendo or purposefully feign ignorance when it comes to their practices because while they have always been petty legally, I think it is apparent many have become incresingly disatisfied with their products. "I pay 10 dollars a year for a family plan for

A Comparison of Prices Across All Major Gaming Consoles.
Overall I really appreciate the work put into this. It's kind of hard to compare the Playstation 5 Pro to anything here. Same goes for the Xbox Series S. They each cover a niche (top tier performance, low tier performance for a budget) that the others don't cover in the same way. Same goes for the S

...the game chat is part of online which already includes the retro catalogue First of all, how is that misinformation? Game chat is locked behind a paywall. You have to pay for online to use it. That’s not the case for literally every other competitor. I don’t want to pay $20 a month to access 30 year
