Light backpack options?
I have been using an Osprey Atmos 65 but it weighs nearly 5 lb. I just bought another Osprey, a 58 L one, that is their effort toward being much lighter. I think it weighs around 2-2.5 lb. It seems to have decent waist belt and shoulder strap padding even though it's in the 2 lb range at that size.

Keep 65L pack for day hikes or switch to smaller pack?
I have 2 65 liter backpacks. A 9 year old ULA circuit and a 16 year old osprey atmos. I have day hiked plenty with my ULA but not my atmos. The ULA only weighs 2 pounds and the straps can be tightened to reduce its size. My osprey was big, cumbersome and heavy. I think my ideal day pack size is in t
