Camino de Santiago

Love my Osprey Stratos 34. I used it for something probably a bit more supported and it was awesome. It also comes in a Women's, the Sirrus, and the Manta/Mirra are pretty similar but with a hydration pack right out of the box. The frame doesn't work for everyone so your daughter should buy in perso

It fits! Osprey Stratos 34L is the winner!

I’ve used the Stratos 34L on several Caminos over the last 10 years. I purchased mine in 2015. The style has slightly changed, but it is an awesome pack! Never had a problem with it as a carry-on either. The other pack I have used on Caminos is the Osprey Hikelite 32L. It’s also a great pack, but the

Light/ Medium sizes hiking backpack

Love my Osprey Stratos 34. Based on that, either the Stratos or Manta 24. Same suspension, one of them comes with a hydration bladder. I like my REI Flash 22 way better than I thought I would. The Osprey Talon 22 is incredibly popular. They have different attitudes about structure and support and I

What volume backpack for long days in the mountains?

I love my Osprey Stratos 34. It's a bit big in the summer but when I start getting into layers and maybe microspikes it's perfect. Definitely try it on though: some people find them too narrow. It's not just about volume. Again, especially when layers and any metallic gear get into the picture, a go

Looking for ideal all in one gym backpack

How big is that in liters? Anyway, I have two candidates for you. The Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack - it doesn't meet a lot of your bullet points but I have one, I love it, and I think that in terms of actual function it would be great. And the Osprey Metron 34, which is a lot closer to your bull

24L vs 36L Osprey Sirrus (woman)

Panel loaders are probably the most common outside hiking - it's the one with the inverted U-shaped zipper that goes around the top and sides of the bag. I find it way easier to find my things. The Sirrus 24 is a panel loader. Top loaders load primarily through the top of the pack. Usually closed wi

How to attach a water bottle to Fairview 40L?

Yes! There are a few. I think I'm using this one. https://a.co/d/cDI9eWD In retrospect I think one of the bajillions that are marketed to the ultralight people (or 2) and a Smartwater bottle or two would be a better choice but I really wanted to use one of my bike bottles and they have a bit bigger

What would you say is the ideal pack size, brand and name for the Camino de Santiago?

I've done 6 Caminos and I have flip-flopped between the Osprey Stratos 34L and the Osprey Hikelite 32L. Both have no problems fitting what I need, but the Stratos is a bit easier to organize due to extra pockets. But most importantly, both fit my body perfectly and are very comfortable.

Recommendation for hiking day pack

I love my Osprey Stratos 34 but I have a lot of sympathy with most daypacks running closer to 20 L. I'd be looking real hard at the Stratos or Manta 24. Depends a bit on how you like to carry your water. Between the two you mentioned I'm honestly torn. I like that the Talon has more of a hip belt an
