PocketBooks are fairly notorious for being slower in most things (other than page-turning, meaning it’s perfectly fine for many people) compared to other dedicated devices, and Verse Lite (which isn’t Android, to be clear, so no Moon Reader possible anyway!) is their cheapest / most “budget” device.

Unfortunately, the quality control of the Pocketbook models can be a mixed bag. You can have a device with no issues or have one with issues. It’s wild. Very likely a device issue, never had such problems with any of my PocketBooks. Just to be 100% sure, you could also test this specific epub on your InkPad (but if it is a legally obtained epub, the issue is very likely the Verse).

No, the Colors use the same screen. The Verse Pro is where the discrepancy arrives. I guess the question is for $35 are you willing to give up repairability and the Kobo software (the main advantage to PocketBook is it integrates KOReader better than Kobo if you like using that, but Kobo wins at pre
