Bluesky Blocks Access from Mississippi IP Addresses
Well this fucking sucks. I replaced Twitter with Bluesky since it’s not overrun with nazi bullshit and kept up with friends there. I love the freedom living in this shithole state offers. Edit: Private Internet Access (PIA) VPN works to keep accessing the site, but I’m still very pissed this is even

Google launches NotebookLM for Android
I am in the US, and the Play Store tells me it is not available in my country, which is weird. I am using an unlocked Pixel 9 Pro XL. [Update]: I used a VPN (PIA) to put me in another US state (Main had a low ping so I used that one) and went back to the PlayStore. It worked right away.

Best VPN
Been using PIA for years, good speed, selection of servers, apparently very security conscious (although my knowledge of their security side of things is from a few years ago when I was deciding on what VPN so definitely do your own research there).

ahhhh...I've been using the same one for ages....but I'll try that out. Some other locations I tried (Chile, and Denmark stand out)...I couldn't use them at all. But so far....Manchester seems to be working. I'll stream that today/tomorrow to see if it's any better. Thanks! Only using PIA since Nord

Is Private Internet Access worth getting, and how does it compare to the usual commercial VPNs?
I just renewed mine for 3 years also, been very solid. Moreso than my experience with paid ProtonVPN...but that could just be me. PIA doesn't give you wireguard profiles to download and plug into your router though. Only OpenVPN.

pia-tun - Lightweight PIA + WireGuard container with port forwarding, qBittorrent port sync, and zero leak killswitch
I've been playing with your image -- thanks for making this easier than fighting with gluetun and editing wg0.conf files! Never did get the custom config to work. I setup lsio/speedtest-tracker alongside your container to measure vpn performance before adding the rest of the stack. While tuning serv

TLS Errors, Self-signed Cert Errors
For anyone that comes here in the future, I was able to get up and running again. Fix:Turns out the whole issue came down to two things: PIA killed port forwarding on all U.S. servers, so Gluetun couldn’t find anything usable when I had VPN_PORT_FORWARDING=on. I was trying to connect to a US-based ser

ISP, IPTV, privacy
No, changing your routers DNS settings wouldn't do anything. If you're running a VPN like pia, all your traffic including your dsn queries are being run inside the encrypted VPN tunnel that your local ISP has no access to. Even if you turn the pia vpn off, changing the DNS settings won't do you much

how did you get your family onboard with degoogling?
I mean we can all try but it is at this point kind of a futile endeavor. I grew up as a kid going through elementary school during the sopa where they wanted to turn the internet basically into a series of subscriber packages like cable television. I saw the siloing and data center and cloud computi

Any advice about a problem with my VPN?
Can't say much without knowing which VPN you use, but for example, I used to use PIA, and on their app you basically chose where you wanted to appear from, and they had specific options for streaming (e.g "UK, UK - Streaming"). USA West Coast streaming would always be refused for the same reason as
