Audiophile here, as much as I love my hd600s I will always recommend people start with something like Samson sr850 headphones because as cool as great audio is it's a massive pit of diminishing returns and most people can't even hear what they are considering spending hundreds of dollars on.

Both can be good. Entirely depends on what you mean by "good headset" if you mean gamer branded stuff (Razer, Logitech, HyperX, etc.) then yeah, you can probably get some chi-fi IEMs that will sound better. There's a lot to go into with sound quality, pricing and a bunch more but I can recommend two
