For better or for worse, I guess it's a moot point for me if Samsung is going all-matte going forward. I see no reason why I'd need to replace my S90D within the next 3 years or so, and by then, all of the glossy QD-OLEDs will have rotated out of retail.

Well my reference at home is a S90C and a S90D (the D not much issues at all while C is ok but shows slight more) and my monitor is S32DG80 from Samsung as well, which in fairness been great because of pixel density but now it’s behind my tvs with these issues. As someone who worked for Samsung. S90D is an exceptional tv with 65 inch being QD OLED in India. However, do buy as much warranty you can, because s90D is riddled with panel issues.
