My EQ settings for the Sony WH-1000XM5
Try this EQ for your XM5.
Clear bass set to +3. 400Hz left at 0. 1KHz set to +6. 2.5KHz set to +8. 6.3KHz set to +5. 16KHz set to +5.
I feel like this really opens up the XM5 and they sound quite nice. Let me know what you think.

To all Sony XM3, XM4 and XM5 enjoyers. Your headphones can sound very near to audiophile-levels with a few steps. The improvement comes at the cost of a compromises on comfort, and will require 1-2 hours of research and software installation.
FIRST, you need to realize that Sony manufactures one of the best dynamic drivers in the world, but they suck at tuning them for unknown reasons. With the right technique, and software tweaks, you can change the sound of your dynamic drivers on your Sonys to near-audiophile levels.

WH-1000XM5 EQ suggestions
Hi I have some xm5s and I've been using an earbud EQ not the headphones one so does anyone have suggestions, I'm new and don't understand the app much so one of the devices recommendations would probably be best if someone uses one and has modified it, I'm using the: Super Review over-ear parametric

Thinking of switching to QC Ultra 2. What am I missing?
They're equivalent to XM5's for ANC, but are more comfortable, better built, light and the sound is great with EQ. Clamping force is good. And with the Bose your ears fit slightly within the earpads so they do give a good seal and fit. I haven't used mic, but no app issues.

Looking for headphone setup
The Bose QC Ultra 2 and the Sony 1000XM5 or XM6 have bass forwards presentations. With their equalizers you can get them pretty close to flat, or whatever you need.
