Would you guys buy decent IEMs locally if they were in stock in NZ?
If you want opinion feedback. No because IEMs are louder in the ear canal by up to 10DB than they appear audibly which Is why I avoid IEMs for long term computer work & gaming. While IEMs can be decent sounding, so can cheap alternative headphones if you do your research Superlux HD668B for example

i love my y1
IEMs don't work for me too, so I use headphones and ear buds. For super bang for buck headphones check out Superlux HD681 EVO and HD668B. For ear buds, Faaeal Iris 2.0 and Rosemary are great options for $12 or less.

Razer Kraken v3 X Vs Razer Kraken V3
Razer is garbage, price shows that. It's all marketing and no performance. You are better off getting Superlux 668b and a cheap AliExpress USB table mic, if you need the mic. Razers have zero soundstage and imaging is horrible, which they try to hide behind echoe mess of THX Spatial audio that makes

First studio headphones under 3k?
I initially recommended IEMs because I was thinking you won’t EQ it and at the same time pros use it during gigs as monitors. If IEM’s are not the way to go, another option is to buy a budget headphone which on its own won’t give you a decent sound but with EQ it could. For the Superlux brand: 668B

What are some cheap but not terrible studio headphones with a 1/4” jack?
Superlux HD668B sound very good for the price. I have much more expensive headphones to compare them with.. but I have several pairs of the Superlux dotted about near equipment as good sounding bargain cans to grab I also use a pair as BT headphones as there is a 3.5mm jack directly on the driver fo
