What makes the Technivorm Moccamaster so good ? Is it really that good ?
Not an expert or authority, but I have owned one (KBGT). It does brew very good coffee, but other coffee brewers out there can as well. The difference with the Moccamaster is that many people consider it a buy-it-for-life purchase. They are hand made (https://youtu.be/W8_NXtwr-qg). They maintain ide

What makes the Technivorm Moccamaster so good ? Is it really that good ?
I’ve had several SCA certified coffee makers (including Ratio 6) and the Moccamaster is hands down my favorite. It’s well made, reliable, easy to clean, easy to replace parts if needed, and makes a great cup of coffee that’s equally as good or better than the other SCA machines. Other newer coffee m

Good coffee maker for better coffee at home?
Technivorm Moccamaster, the absolute gold standard for coffee machines and it does go on sale at Amazon regularly; you’ll pay for it but it makes drip coffee that tastes like pour over in a consistent basis and it is very easy and quick. You also want to make sure you are grinding the beans fresh in

What are the best coffee makers worth buying the MOST in 2026?
Technivorm Moccamaster. Simple, brews fast, and is highly repairable. The coffee tastes pretty good too. We’ve only had it for 4 years, but I’ve had other coffee makers die in that amount of time so it’s doing well so far. Keep the grinder separate.

My disappointed perspective
This is a classic case of the Moccamaster hype muddying the waters about what it is. The Moccamaster is a well built vintage design that's main strength is it's simplicity and consistency. It uses parts that are easy to replace and are consistent with parts used decades ago. It heats water at the co

Are drip coffee makers essentially all the same?
It really has nothing to do with wattage. All machines that work on what most people call a “thermosiphon” principle (although that’s really not what it is) have to get the water to boiling in order to get it into the coffee. It’s the steam that propels the coffee up and over and into the grinds. So

Favorite coffee machine??
Before you buy a coffee machine, buy a good quality burr grinder. Grinding your own fresh beans just before you brew them will make an enormous difference in the quality of your coffee. Coffee begins to lose its flavor within 20 minutes of grinding, so buying pre-ground coffee is really a non-starte

why is this special
I agree with a lot of what the others said but I'll add one point. For a long time I've been frustrated at the way the modern world deals with consumerism. Modern consumers are expected to purchase something made as cheaply as possible and that is designed to have a specified lifespan. And when that

If your country had a “signature” kitchen item, what would it be?
Not just any filter coffee maker, a moccamaster.

What are the best coffee makers worth buying the MOST right now?
I just want to say I was second guessing my Moccamaster the last few weeks. I had been doing pour overs exclusively for about a month, but with a busy week I wanted to brew and take it with me. The first 3 days were rough. It was sour and underextracted. I started watching videos about the Aiden and
