Best drip coffee makers for home with no bells and whistles?
I'll be the first to say the usual answer of Technivorm Moccamaster. Literally only 2 switches, on/off and half/full brew. I really like mine, they're hand made, it's built like a tank and you get a lifelong warranty.

Are drip coffee makers essentially all the same?
It really has nothing to do with wattage. All machines that work on what most people call a “thermosiphon” principle (although that’s really not what it is) have to get the water to boiling in order to get it into the coffee. It’s the steam that propels the coffee up and over and into the grinds. So

Favorite coffee machine??
Before you buy a coffee machine, buy a good quality burr grinder. Grinding your own fresh beans just before you brew them will make an enormous difference in the quality of your coffee. Coffee begins to lose its flavor within 20 minutes of grinding, so buying pre-ground coffee is really a non-starte

What’s the best wedding gift you’ve ever received?
Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker. A fancy drip machine. Use it everyday.

Is upgrading to a Moccamaster actually worth it if I’m fine with my cheap drip machine?
Honestly the biggest factor is what is your financial situation like? If dropping $300 is going to cause stress in other aspects of your life, then a Moccamaster is probably not worth getting. If you are in a comfortable spot financially, you’ll be happy dropping the money even just to see the machi

Leftover water in the reservoir - KBT
As in most drip coffee makers, there is no pump. The water is propelled by steam when it boils. When the tank runs dry, a float switch turns off the boiler and the water stops boiling. There will always be that last bit of water that can’t boil out. This is often called a thermo-siphon but it is tec

So disappointed ...
Grinder is more important than the coffee maker in making a better cup of coffee. I went from a bodum to fellow ode 2, huge difference. I love my moccamaster mostly because I’m in love with how it looks. It takes about a month on average to get accustomed to it.

What is the daily cleaning like? Im thinking of getting a Moccamaster, but don't really want to spend much time in the morning having to clean. I like pouring and leaving the house.
The lore over the Moccamaster is hilarious. It’s just a drip coffee maker that looks nice and heats the water hot enough to effectively brew coffee lighter than French roast. Anything you do with your current drip, you do with the MM. for me it’s 10 seconds to dump the grounds and rinse the carafe.

Best drip coffee makers for home with no bells and whistles?
Another vote for the Technivorm Moccamaster. I've used lots of drip machines through the years and this one is my favorite. Wonderful coffee, no fuss, beautiful, built to last and if there is a problem it can be repaired.
