Did any well-known companies in your country avoid “enshittification”? Are there still products with quality as good as 20–30 years ago? All I hear lately is that everything, especially food, has gone from great, good, or iconic to bad.
The Moccamaster coffee maker. It's built to last. My parent's one is lasting for 30 years and no sign of decline. They're still a sturdy, high quality, no frills machine to this day.

Good coffee maker for better coffee at home?
Technivorm Moccamaster, the absolute gold standard for coffee machines and it does go on sale at Amazon regularly; you’ll pay for it but it makes drip coffee that tastes like pour over in a consistent basis and it is very easy and quick. You also want to make sure you are grinding the beans fresh in

What are the best coffee makers worth buying the MOST in 2026?
Technivorm Moccamaster. Simple, brews fast, and is highly repairable. The coffee tastes pretty good too. We’ve only had it for 4 years, but I’ve had other coffee makers die in that amount of time so it’s doing well so far. Keep the grinder separate.

My disappointed perspective
This is a classic case of the Moccamaster hype muddying the waters about what it is. The Moccamaster is a well built vintage design that's main strength is it's simplicity and consistency. It uses parts that are easy to replace and are consistent with parts used decades ago. It heats water at the co

Wife tells me I don’t know how to match. I think she’s wrong.
Coffee pot took a shit a few weeks ago and my aunt asked what I wanted. Picked out a moccamaster kbgv select. It makes by far the best coffee I’ve had. Highly recommend this maker if you enjoy good coffee. I’m still in my learning curve of ratios and such but it gets better each pot. Ruger mkiv sile

What am I doing wrong that my grounds have two deep holes apparent after brewing?
There are all sorts of techniques out there (stir, pause and let bloom, get a new showerhead, etc. etc.) but I’d suggest forget all of that. The Moccamaster became popular and well liked brewing just as is, following Technivorm’s instructions. As for the divots in your grounds I get that every now a

What’s a household upgrade that was more worth it than expected?
Expensive: Technivorm MoccaMaster drip coffee maker. My wife and I use it every morning to start our day. The coffee brews in the time it takes us to get dressed, makes an incredibly good cup (if coffee is your thing), and allows us to spend time together before waking up the rest of the house. Chea

Coffee maker for the Visually Impaired?
Honestly I’d focus more on tactile buttons and simplicity over fancy touch screens. A lot of modern coffee makers look sleek but become frustrating without vision. Maybe something like a Moccamaster + a simple burr grinder could work really well. Physical switches/dials are probably easier long term

So disappointed ...
Grinder is more important than the coffee maker in making a better cup of coffee. I went from a bodum to fellow ode 2, huge difference. I love my moccamaster mostly because I’m in love with how it looks. It takes about a month on average to get accustomed to it.

Different Moccamaster KBGV Brew basket, and water basin lids: My In-Law's new Moccamaster has different plastic lids compared to my ~3 year old one of the same model. New, cheaper feeling lids not shown on product pages.
I bought the newer type MoccaMaster for the half pot selector, new color and design parity with their grinder. I had a older one from 2005 which I gifted to my parents. At my job we have various moccamasters. A few remarks regarding the quality of MoccaMasters from my experience: -The old one had a
