•Most of the consumer models will start with “K”.•If it has a “T” in the model, it’s a steel thermal carafe. If there is no “T” it is the glass carafe with warming plate.•If there is a “G” in the model, it has auto drip stop (pull out the carafe for a cup before it’s done brewing) If there is no “G”

What am I doing wrong that my grounds have two deep holes apparent after brewing?

There are all sorts of techniques out there (stir, pause and let bloom, get a new showerhead, etc. etc.) but I’d suggest forget all of that. The Moccamaster became popular and well liked brewing just as is, following Technivorm’s instructions. As for the divots in your grounds I get that every now a

This is the shower head that everyone was raving about?

I have never ever heard a single person rave about the shower head. If anything, it's the part people complain about the most. Quality control and customer service are above average, and the replaceable plastic parts are a well known aspect of Moccamasters. It seems like every time there's a sale, a

Ceramic pour over swap and overfilling

It fits on the top of the standard moccomaster basket and spreads the water out from the original 9 hole want making for more even saturation. Huge improvement! https://coffeepilot.ca/products/shower-head-insert-for-technivorm-moccamaster

Grinding pro tips?

Regarding half pots - I find that on my KBT, even when I use the half-pot setting I still need to grind finer in order to get the ideal brew. So I experimented to find ideal grind settings for full pots and half pots, and I generally stick to one of the two batch sizes. The ideal grind settings are

Drip coffee makers for single cup use?

Moccamaster Cup One, but the regular Moccamaster (I prefer the kbt) makes a great half pot which equals 2 large mugs

Drip coffee makers for single cup use?

I recently got the Moccamaster KBT and make a half pot. This fills my giant mug for at home days or my travel mug. Love it so far!

Why are so many of us newbies struggling to make a good cup of coffee with our Moccamasters?

The water delivery isn't identical between the 2 machines though. The KBGV is the first Moccamaster with a variable flow through the boiler itself. That's very different. I don't treat ATK as gospel, and sometimes their testing makes me go hmmmm. But they have chosen Moccamasters as their favorite m

Anyone using the CDT Grand at home? Pros/Cons vs smaller KBT/KBGT?

You of course can do that, but the result won't be ideal. The flow rate out of the filter basket will be too fast to get good extraction without enough coffee slowing things down. The CDT Grand doesn't even have water lines on the reservoir except for the 60 oz mark. You could likely grind finer for

If you had to recommend one coffee maker in 2026, what would it be?

Love our moccamaster kbt. The adjustable flow rate on the basket is great as, for just the two of us, we don't brew a full pot.
