Depends on the VPN. Mine is working fine YouTuber ones like nord or tunnelbear won't be as effective as their servers are well known at this point

the downfall of the mmd community needs to be studied
I don't trust "free" VPN's whatsoever. Including Proton. I trust heavily advertised VPN's e.g. NordVPN, SurfShark, TunnelBear, Private Internet Access even less than "free" VPN's.

How do you tell if a VPN is shady?
What are you doing with your VPN? If your trying to watch Netflix’s in another region logs isn’t a big deal. If you’re living in an area with internet restrictions/limitations it matters more. If you’re trying to do something nefarious VPN will not save you. Any tech company can at any moment decide

If VPNs aren't secure, Firefox isn't secure, Windows 11 isn't secure, and constant "security updates" aren't secure, then why do so many IT guys I know at work tell me otherwise?
Depends on the VPN. Is it a VPN you got from a provider like tunnelbear or something? Then thats not going to stop a determined attacker. Is it wireguard, or something else you had to set up yourself with a pre shared key? Thats secure as hell. Security updates are pretty secure because theyre digit

Chinese online streamers working in production-line conditions
So, please, instead of exaggeratedly sighing and stropping about how nobody could ever possibly know anything about your little special place, why don't you correct me, and say the following: "It is legal for you to go and download some shitty consumer tier VPN like nord or tunnelbear and tunnel all

The EU switches I made or intend to make
I in fact actually already switched to the Swedish Mullvad. They I think didn’t do any sponsorships as opposed to those others like ExpressVPN, Tunnelbear and Private Internet Access.

All I need are these 4. But to pity all 4, i need 18000 gems. As a f2p with 5k gems. I don't think its possible for me to save 18k gems. But these 4 have DPS, Support, I think I'll just reroll at that time.
It's called "VPN Japan". I used to use Tunnel Bear before they went greedy. I just searched "Japan VPN" on the Play Store and downloaded the first one that showed up. It's noticeably slow, but I only need it for the store anyway.

Oh, we're moving the goalposts now? Before, as you can infer from context, we were talking about VPNs to tunnel consumer traffic outside of China. Now you're talking about VPNs for school and work? They're identical things, regulated identically, are they? So I suppose it's legal for me to go and do
