Is this OK as a starter?
You get used to a lighter bass. I started with cheap headphones with too much bass and stopped preferring them when I got the V-Moda M100. They have V tuning and despite that I felt that they lacked bass, but a month later headphones with excessive bass hurt my ears. I recommend that you buy some go

Why is no one talking about the new M-10 and M-100 Pro?
Your analysis is very interesting, thank you for sharing it! I recently bought a brand new sealed M-100 Masters for $95 on eBay, a real deal, my OG’s M-100 were already having problems with the hinges. Just got this bad boy.
Welcome to the hobby. As for headphones, if you're just getting started, any over the ear or on ear headphones will work. Here's my take on several of the recommended headphones: Sony WH-1000XM series: If you already have these, they're fine. Not something I'd use long term. Too much to break. Audio
