The final day of my P73 as my primary. It gave me 5+ years with zero problems, and is retiring with honors to my living room TV as a media server. Also pictured: 40B0 TB4 dock, SK-8855 7-row USB keyboard, dual 30" 16:10 Dell UltraSyncs
I wanted a modern P series with an AMD CPU and two SSD bays, so I went with the only option available, a P16v G1. Found a refurbished one from the Outlet for only $660 USD with the very nice Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS. The rest are minimal specs. 1920x1200 100% sRGB, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD. I have stock on h

What's the best SSD Upgrade for the new XB Rog Ally X?
I see a lot of people recommending the 990 Pro for the Xbox Ally X, but before you go get the fastest and most expensive drive, think about power consumption. The stock Samsung MZ-VMA1T00 (PM9A1) already balances solid speed with power efficiency, usually drawing around 4.5W under load. The 990 Pro,

2tb nvme ssd with nvme enclosure for extra storage
Have an OWC 1M2 with a 4TB WD Black SN7100 NVME drive which (while capable of running faster ie. once TB5 enclosures become better bang for buck) matches the speed of the internal drive. I find it easiest to run productivity/creative apps on the internal drive and store all files, media and catalogu

Lexar 4TB NM790 or Samsung 990 EVO plus or WD_Black 4TB SN7100 for Go 2 SSD upgrade?
I got the sn7100 4tb ans also evo plus 990 in 4tb. Sn7100 is better suited for a handheld use under high loads. Pulls less watts underload runs cooler. 990 plus 4tb has better aspm power draw on idle. Under load it pulls more power and creates more heat. On idle it conserves the battery better. Get

Galaxy Book5 Pro SSD ports: PCIe 5.0 or 4.0?
I've also been looking for the same information. It looks like it only supports pcie4 speeds on the nvme interfaces even though the chipset could in theory support pcie5. The lowest power draw and coolest temp cie4 nvme appears to be the wd_black sn7100.

Legion Go 2 SSD Upgrade Guide
I use mine mostly docked with external cooling fan. So I’m not the best to tell you but I have heard they can run warmer and consume more battery. I have heard Lexar NM790 or WD SN7100 are good specifically for handhelds where those who care about more portability.

What disks are people using?
Just migrated from a QNAP 4 bay to the Ugreen DXP6800 Pro 5 x 8TB Ironwolf (bought an extra one to go in this new NAS) 2 x 2TB WD Black SN7100s Ironwolf drives, because they have proved reliable for me for the last few years. The SN7100's - good value, 5 year warranty, good energy usage, excellent s

Pocket 4 Arrived Today
Being you I'd swap for WD SN7100 2tb drive. It's so far the less power hungry pcie4 x4 drive on the market. According to some tests while other ssds heat up to ~80°C and more this one doesn't exceed 59°C. And still it's quite capable, not much worse than its senior brother, the great SN850X (which I
