It just won't work reliably. I've been playing with solar since the first Wyze cam was introduced. Solar panels work great on battery cams. Hardwired cameras have a MUCH larger power appetite so you need batteries in the system and a panel big enough to both power the camera and charge the batteries

Nice to meet you Alan. This whole thing will be very ilunfair to you at times and you are going to receive the brunt of some customers frustration. In my case those tickets are a waste of time and a bunch of work for customers who will "never" receive a resolution as there will be no response, ever.

The short answer is no. The basic (no subscriptions) Wyze service is Live viewing, SD card recording, an image showing detected events, not video. I don't know of any brand that gives everything you have with no subscription. There are better choices than Wyze though. I have started replacing my Wyz

Cruddy thing is current gen wyze cams have this ability for on-device smart detections but they still paywall it. Absolutely why I have changed brands.

I feel your pain im in the the uk too i ended up importing mine and they came with american plugs but luckily its usb to the plug. i hear blink or ring is supposed to be our equivilant i was temped to get try one for my mourning gecko tank but its just another bloody subscription 😅 so ill prolly bid

If they're in the same boat as me It won't cost him anything long-term as long as they get something that's not subscription based. I have been with wyze since day one But they came to forgotten why they got started. I've watched them pull features and pull features and remove options and downgrade

I just bought 2 new OGs and added them to my existing 2 cameras. I’ve upgraded everything and now I’ve lost the ability to record video!?! Not much of an upgrade :( Definitely not going to recommend people buy Wyze cameras anymore.
