They are the absolute cheapest of the cheap hardware, on purpose. I have had an issue at one time or another with every single item. Why do SD cards in my Wyze cameras always stop working??
I think you're correct; the HE cards have a thicker layer of gold plating on the contacts, which is almost certainly what's fixing the problem (despite the OG Telephoto having weather proofing gaskets, which still blows my mind). My camera wasn't even in direct weather, it's INSIDE my garage facing
