Xteink X3 Live Now
This may be a bit of a rant but here’s my perspective: The product XTEINK are busy selling is a small e-ink screen, not a book reader. The device is really cool because it’s minimalistic and pocketable but in order to be a book reader it lacks: decent epub rendering capability: it improved recently

Lightest e-ink devices
Check out xteink x4, it's 74g. Note that the software is very limited as it runs on the ESP32-C3 MCU. There is also Obook 5 at 100g. No need to ask here, just open https://comparisontabl.es/e-readers/ and sort the table by weight to see them all. Screenshot of the top lightest devices:

Easiest/cheapest?
Seconding the posts suggesting looking at second-hand readers - e-readers have fragile screens but otherwise it’s tech that holds up well, so a second-hand Kindle or Kobo or PocketBook that is in a decent shape (the screen is intact) will be fine for this purpose. Even very old ones (15 years old) s

XTINK S4 Leaks
I haven’t touched my Kobo because I can’t sync to it, and don’t feel like finding the page I’m on. Page number 6,879 doesn’t really equate to anything of meaning for other normal-sized eReaders. I’m reading IT currently, and started reading the physical book, but have read a good 20% on the X3. I ju

2 weeks in Japan in a Lego Backpack
Best hostel - WPU Hakone, by far. Most importantly, it is 50m from the Gora funicular rail (the first or last part of the hakone loop) so effortless access. It also has an Onsen. Even without those 2 things this would be in the top (not many...) of nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. The e-reader is

Got myself the smallest e-reader so far: the XTeink X4!
- font size: normal and small * page turning: fast * marking/highlight text: no (no-touch screen, it is a button-operated device) It is very limited in everything. It really is not more than a toy that offers only one thing: reading texts and (most) epubs. I find the screen very nice that makes for very

Xteink X4: close but not quite (for me)
Here's the review. As an XTeink V4 owner, I agree with this guy's thoughts, except for the backlight. While I wish it had a light, I mostly use it while out and about during the day, so lighting isn't an issue. In a moment of retail therapy, I decided to buy the Xteink X4 for $69. If the X4 had (1)

Found the perfect light for my X4
I mostly read in dark rooms, yes. Like 75%. I read at night, in bed, next to someone. That is where e-readers shine, imo. Light weight/portability and absolutely amazing built in light. That is what really makes the devices great. I mostly read big heavy fantasy books. Reading those on a front-lit e
