Just Apple Things
This is 100% ON PURPOSE. And so is putting the Mac Mini power button on the BOTTOM of the thing. There is someone at Apple that WANTS people to burn. Like the mouse is amazing, scrolling is amazing, gestures are amazing, but you can't even hold it properly because it's so fucking.. idk.. what's the

GPU Recommendation
Mac studio - m4 max chip, 40 core GPU - 1tb ssd and 64gb ram - $2900 Nvidia rtx 5090 32gb VRAM - ~$4200 Agreed, PC is more expandable, can even thrown in additional 24tb HDD, but expansion is not possible in Mac, have to rely on NAS. (Mac mini somehow offers only 48gb RAM when last checked)

Is 16 GB of RAM enough?
Quite simply, no. I thought I'd be able to get away with the base model of the M4 Mac Mini and it struggles. I'm not overly heavy with my editing but the minute you try to use any effect/Magic Mask/Depth Mask/Plugin Effects, playback suffers. If I could have my time again, I'd have pushed for at lea

Question about SSD upgrade on the M4 Mac Mini
ngl the m4 mini ssd upgrade is trickier than people make it sound. standard 2230 drives wont work because apple uses a proprietary connector. you need a modified drive with the controller swapped or an adapter board. i used the m4 ssd adapter from featherab paired with a western digital sn770m 1tb a

Looking for best "bang for the buck" mac mini for video editing
the 32gb isn't readily available anymore. If you go for the M4 regular, you get 16 or 24, and after that next stop is 48, but the 48 is the M4 pro or whatever, and is more than double the price. High memory base Mac Minis are, well, memories now.

End of low cost Mini PC (Non Mac)
Like the Neo, who the fuck is buying that shit. You can't compare soldered mobile whatever with mini pc. I'm using apple and Windows and I can say that apple at the moment is no go for me. For the price of Neo I was rather invest my money to Zbook 15 G8 with 128 GB memory, RTX A3000 and 4 NVMe drive

Mac mini M4 pro (4 months to deliver)
Why not add 10GbE, though? I have a 64GB 14/20 512GB 10GbE Mac mini M4. Storage is the only part that’s upgradable after purchase (either with external SSDs or internal SSD replacements).

Macbook Pro M5 Pro overkill for FL Studio? (Kontakt heavy sessions)
I have a Mac mini M4 that I got from Apple's refurbished store. The biggest problem isn't necessarily the chip, but the storage. I made the mistake of getting the 256GB version, and I can't even install all the plugins I bought (Komplete, etc.). However, I've already experienced crashes in FL Studio
