Apple Watch never charges
Yeah. The battery is cooked. There are places that can replace the battery for you. May not be worth it unless you are attached to the watch since it no longer gets updates from Apple. Apple Watch SE 3 are pretty cheap or maybe a preowned from swappa.

Minimalist fitness trackers?
The Apple Watch has significantly less battery life when doing an activity than pretty much any other device. So if you’re just looking for something to track runs, it’s probably one of the worst options per dollar. Edit: I've been downvoted but this is just true? Apple Watch SE 3 has up to 18 hours
