A gaming laptop but not a gaming laptop?

Reality is performance laptops specifically built for your needs are marketed like that if your dad doesn't know its your responsibility to teach him by showing the use case and talking to one of your teachers. And macbooks though excellent machines might not be suitable for your use case and you wo

Need a discretely named / incognito sff gaming pc

If you were building yourself 2k would be doable, but I doubt you’ll find a nice prebuilt for <2k, especially one without a bunch of tacky RGB. Might as well just get a laptop. Asus ROG Zephyrus G16, Gigabyte G6X, etc. And do not listen to the people telling you to buy a computer, charge your compan

Asus, Lenovo, and Co.: Notebook manufacturers suspend deliveries to the USA

Literally why I grabbed an Asus Strix G16 2024 a couple of days ago to replace an older machine, figuring something this was coming. At a minimum I figured I could head off prices being jacked up on existing supply (or new models coming in the next few month). But I figure scarcity would be a factor

New Ally X Owner – Tweaked a ton but still feels like I’m missing FPS juice?

Yup! Had a ROG strix G16 with 4070. Debated if I wanted to upgrade it or go with an ally X. Due to 1080p, lower fps, and lower graphics settings I went with a ROG strix G18 with 5080. It looks amazing on the bigger screen and is a beast but I liked the size of the G16 more I think. Both gaming lapto

Bluetooth on arch is hot garbage

I use an Asus Rog Strix G16. I’ve been across 3 distros (including Arch, rn), and bluetooth just worked out of the box. No extra steps. Never had a problem

Apple is just blind religion

Bro keep up with the fan fiction, one day you could write something that is believable. Also, a Asus G16 is not thinner than a MacBook Pro lmao Also also, you are talking about the G16 a $4500 laptop where I assume the MacBook he bought was at worst 2500. I hope your laptop performs or has better sp

You guys are a bad influence. Open box $511 at my local Best Buy.

I got my 4090 G16 for $2300 last year as an Open Box - Fair. Couldn't find a defect anywhere on it, but saved like $1k. Amazon open box is more of a gamble, but worth it when it pays off and easy to return when it doesn't. I got my Asus Z790 Hero for more than 50% off because there was damage to the
