Got an Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2025. Any tips and tricks on how not to end up with the issues everyone else is facing

I will sound like an asshole, but the majority of “issues” you are seeing on this sub are over exaggerated. Basically, you will see a few types of “issues”: Type 1: OMG, my laptop is reaching 80C, G14 sucks, Asus sucks. Well, your g14 is designed to run up to 95C without much throttling. If you want

RDR literally saved my life!

It's a Zephyrus G14. I chose it mainly for its size. It's amazing how it can pack so much power into such a small space. It was very convenient because during chemo, when I had limited space, I could just bring the USB-C charger and play using the integrated graphics at 1080p with a steady 30fps, ma

Are these issues normal or did I received a faulty Zephyrus?

Install ghelper. It will fix all your problems. Before uninstalling Asus Apps do an update then uninstall all the asus apps. Do a custom fan curve also. My zephyrus g14 2024 rtx 4060 16gb ram lasts for 5 to 6 hours on battery on light web browsing and documents

Removed the stickers for extra fps!

I've been daily driving Arch Linux on a 4060 G14 for over a year now and it's been great. Running Hyprland and using the nvidia-open-dkms. I recommend looking at the Asus ROG for Linux page as they have some helpful documentation for the G14. Have fun!

I was wrong, Thinkpads are heaven

there's nice ''gaming'' laptops (alienware aurora 16x, asus g14, asus g16...) like there,s nice business laptops to be fair. It depends on what you buy.

laptop recommendations for student

For cybersec and home labs, I’d prioritize RAM and CPU over flashy gaming features. Honestly a ThinkPad, Dell XPS, or Zephyrus G14/G16 are hard to go wrong with. Aim for at least 16GB RAM, preferably 32GB if you’ll run VMs. Linux compatibility matters way more than RGB lights.

Why no USB C bypass charging ?

This topic has been beaten to death. It sucks, but there's a super easy fix: the 150W SlimQ charger with the G14 adaptor. Strong enough to use any power mode, even turbo. This way, you have a tiny charger that uses the Asus port with full passthrough. And your 2 USB-C ports stay available! Cheers.

Asus Rog flow x13 2027

Unlikely I think, Strix Halo on the Z13 and ProArt PX13 performs roughly similar at this power level and we're kind of already at the limit as to what's physically possible in a 13 inch chassis. It probably wouldn't have the XG Mobile port either as Asus has fully committed to USB4 / Thunderbolt for

Panther Lake Geekbench Leak (its good!!)

This is an interesting change that Asus is considering swapping the G14 to Intel, or at least making a Intel model. Seems to bode well for the overall efficiency of Panther Lake, or at least the performance and efficiency pairing. Though I have my doubts it will truly be a iGPU only model, the whole

Do not put your laptop in your traveling backpack

You're on a sub called zephyrus g14... And the laptop in the post is a g14... Even a thicker hard case sleeve would still be completely useable in any bog standard backpack
