The first true MacBook Neo rivals are here, packing double the RAM and storage of Apple's budget laptop
Yeah, I say this as a person who, pretty much as a rule, doesn't buy Apple products: buying Windows laptops in particular is such a crapshoot that I think Macbooks are absolutely worth the premium, doubly so now that there's an affordable one. You can check processor, RAM, GPU, and storage specs bet

Anon purchases a laptop.
I do occasional video editing, a lot of adobe lightroom, and I did most of my computer science degree on one. I also have an Asus ROG G14 gaming laptop with a 3060 in it, which is more capable than the macbook, but for day to day stuff it feels like junk to use in comparison.

Apple Macbook Pro M1 switch to something like it in design and functionality
Sorry to break it, but apple still makes the best laptops. Best price for the quality and power. Best builds. And this is coming from a pc guy who, I do have a pc rig, can't stand other laptops than macbooks... I had a zephyrus G14, nice laptop, but battery was atrocious even on light use. Battery i

ROG Zephyrus G14: Asus releases new 14-inch gaming laptop in North America without GeForce RTX 5080
Hey OP - I just checked the Asus US site and I do see the 5080 SKU listed now. But damn, its 4800... yea I'm wondering if they were better off not listing it given I can't imagine ANYONE is paying almost 5K for a 5080 14inch + 1TB SSD laptop when just last year $4K got you a 5090 + 64GB RAM + 2TB in

Asus ROG says it is 'actively investigating' gaming laptop stuttering issues after a user apparently identified a 'cascade of firmware design failures'
Yup. Got a G14 ASUS laptop about 6 years ago. Got constant blue screens. There were many, many threads on r/ZephyrusG14 about it. Turns out they fucked up how the dynamic processor adjustment works. Had to modify power management in Windows and explicitly disable processor performance boost mode, or

I accidentally got a Zephyrus G14 and it was probably the best thing that could have happened to me (this is a bit of a long story)
If you are lame and don't wanna read the whole thing. An employee brought us the Zephyrus G14 on accident instead of the Asus TUF F16. It turned out to be way better for me, so I ended up buying it, good laptop 9.9 out of 10. Update: The Asus TUF 16 model was a 5060 with 32gb, It would not have been

New to Thinkpad.
Congrats on finally finding "the one". Just curious, what didn't you like about the Macbook Air? Also, was the Asus gaming laptop a G14? I have a G14 and it has not been reliable hah.

Got an Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2025. Any tips and tricks on how not to end up with the issues everyone else is facing
I will sound like an asshole, but the majority of “issues” you are seeing on this sub are over exaggerated. Basically, you will see a few types of “issues”: Type 1: OMG, my laptop is reaching 80C, G14 sucks, Asus sucks. Well, your g14 is designed to run up to 95C without much throttling. If you want

$1800 laptop with 16GB Ram? Wtf
Yeah, it seems like a rip off. But, that said, the Zephyrus G14 was first unveiled around March 2020 and the 16gb, 1tb, RTX 2060 variant would have been $1499. Plugging numbers into an inflation calculator, this actually seems about on-par

Downloaded Nvidia Studio Driver on Newly Bought G14, and Now It’s Stuck on the Logo Screen
New driver seem to be incompatible with Ultimate mode . You can either downgrade driver (preferred) or exit Ultimate and just wait for an update form Nvidia.
