Spent 10 hours trouble shooting the new asus modem😑 worth it after all

Wow! Thank you for mentioning this. I have RT-AX58u V2 which I bought with intention to install merlin, but I then found out there are 2 hw versions of it and I got 2nd which is unsupported.

Connecting ethernet to Asus mesh secondary router breaks the internet

When I connect an ethernet from the upstairs ethernet port, into the LAN port of the AX58U This is incorrect. You should be using the WAN port on the AX58U. https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1044151/

Is there a router that really supports Time Machine backups to an attached HD?

The Asus RT-AX58U works okay with an attached drive. My only concern is that uses HFS+ (instead of APFS) and starting from macOS 26 won’t be supported anymore. Not sure if Asus will update this (but I don’t believe they will).

Wifi speed: at distance to router 5 meter: 125mbps distance 2 meter: 993mbps no walls ... With one wall and 5 meter it's 885mbps.. doesn't make sense.. Then I tried a mobile phone with wifi

How to use a VPN on a Roku tv for dummies?

I'm currently using samsung smart view, a type of screen mirroring. Make sure to change the roku setting to Always allow instead of Prompt, because it never prompts on the roku. I tried the virtual router with Windows, and actually bought a router that even supports wireguard vpn client, an Asus rt

Upgrade Day

I have the same router. I really, really hate that unstable, overpriced sh1t. Lot of functions are under subscription too... I'am using an ASUS RT-AX58U, the TP-Link is only used in LAN-parties nowadays. Edit: I have AX5400, not AXE5400... Sorry, the hate blinded me.

NBN September 2025 Upgrade: Download Speed Drop on Superloop 1Gbps (ASUS RT-AX58U)

Ok so I was not the only one experiencing this issue. I too have an RT-AX58U and I used to consistently get gigabit speeds down and the full upload speed (50 at the time). Its been like 2-3 months now but I no longer get those speeds when downloading from anything. I can only get gigabit speeds when

Wow! Pcvr is amazing

Gaming routers are a scam. Prime example, I have an ASUS RT AX 3000, it's literally the same as the ASUS TUF Gaming AX3000 hardware and software wise, and even then, it still runs on an older firmware that was originally designed for the AX58u Routers ... The whole "Gaming " things is nothing but a

Distributel Fibre(Acanac): Need help with proper setting(s) using our own router connecting to a Switch

I think it's my Asus RT-AX58U router with the Merlin firmware. Leaving Lan Port 4 blank for my switch connection I couldn't even access the internet or my router ip. But by changing it to VID>40 or other number the speed test are good but ping test is pretty terrible and webpages load very slowly wh
