I need an AMD GPU
ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition. Comes with a rzyen CPU and either a 7600s or 7700s. This is pretty much the last "modern" AMD laptop with AMD graphics. I have this model running bazzite and it works great. But it's almost impossible to find. I bought mine late October on eBay and the prices h

Bazzite 6 months review
Cool! It's not great on my asus tuf a16 laptop :/ I had a better experience on my old msi with a 1660. Asusctl wont turn on the backlighting on my keyboard, my mouse stutters on the desktop but works fine in games, I think the performance settings and fan curve editor are borked because I can't get

Hardware Question
First, you are probably better off asking for advice in the r/linuxhardware subreddit. I'm biased. I purchased a laptop, in Sept. 2023, from Asus that was all AMD (CPU + GPU). I have no trust or love for Nvidia. Nvidia has some issues with Wayland. AMD has a good relationship with the Linux kernel d

I just manually installed for the first time and it went... surprisingly easily??
It took me about an hour to figure out and install the base system (needed more time for tinkering with the partitions). In a couple of weeks, I became ready to bring this experiment into production, so to say, and managed to redistribute the disk space (got two M.2's, 1tb and 2tb, in my laptop) for

Just upgraded from my old TUF F15 (1660 Ti variant) to the new ASUS TUF F16
Congrats man, I have nearly the same laptop tuf A16, got it a month ago. My specs, ryzen 7 260, 5070 8vram, 32ram,1tb ssd. Not really, mine stays under 45°C during light work and 60-75 during gaming so undervolting would be seriously a waste of money and time Probably with thermal paste, no need to

Hello, I have a few questions. What a16 model do you have? What are the settings in the Armoury Crate are you using? We probably have the same model. I have a ASUS TUF Gaming A16 FA607NUG-RL118WSMAMD Ryzen™ 7 7445HS 16GB 512GB PCIE4 SSD RTX 4050 6GB GDDR6 Mine also froze in the second, third and fou

Why is it sooo hard to find a fully AMD laptop?
I have the same and couldn't be happier. Cannot confirm ANY of your problems. Perhaps update BIOS? I remember I did this once. Running Manjaro with older 6.12 kernel now - the newer kernels had some freezing problems, had a running Slackware on it as well. System / Mobo: ASUSTeK ASUS TUF Gaming A16

Laptop recommendation for heavy ML/DL + local LLM work as a Computer Engineering student (India) — Budget ₹1.2L / ~$1400
rtx 4060 is fine for student ml workloads, 8gb vram handles most pytorch experiments nd smaller llm inference comfortably. between ur list the legion 5 or tuf a16 are the most reliable long term, both have good linux support nd proper thermal headroom under sustained load. asus tuf tends to win on b

Finally fixed my AMD driver issues by doing one stupid thing.
What if I have all of the same issues, but also my NVMe micron 2400 series c: drive is also randomly running at 100%, my PC has basically become unusable. 512gb with 212gb unused, ran all the cmd lines from chkdsk c: f/ r/ to sfcscannow to dism /online / restore health and everything in-between. I'v

Keep me from moving to apple: Linux laptop with similar performance to a macbook air m5 about 1000Euros
I don't have battery life details on the latest Windows/Linux laptops. However, it will be difficult to reach the battery life of a MacBook. I personally dislike super tiny laptop screens so a 13 inch laptop isn't my thing. I'm a PC guy anyway. In 2023, I was able to get an Asus TUF Gaming A16 2023
